A Bible study is offered on Sunday mornings, 8:30-10am in the Jane Stockert classroom and is open to all. Participants explore the lectionary readings or other portions of scripture through guided discussion.
Throughout the year, our Rector offers spiritual studies, offering chances to learn, pray and reflect in ways that expand your usual practices. Our current class, Zimzum Discipleship, explores how in our busy, noisy world, comes the call to find time for quiet reflection with God. This class is an opportunity to tone down the noise around us and to come into God’s presence.
While spending time as an entire congregation is important, finding a smaller group with a commonality allows for different opportunities. These parishioners gather to take advantage of the many offerings of our city.
Many good times and good people can be found with our 20s/30s group! 20s/30s leads: Emma Buckland young, Jon Canning
Throughout the year, Ascension offers short-term classes and study series that invite deeper engagement with Christian belief, scripture, and spiritual practice. These offerings may include preparation for baptism, confirmation, or reception into the Episcopal Church, as well as thematic series during seasons such as Advent and Lent, or National Episcopal Church offerings, such as: Becoming Beloved Community; Sacred Ground; or Love God, Love God’s World.
Our Healing and Justice Ministry seeks to faithfully respond to God’s call to love our neighbors by learning about the history of injustice and recognizing where it persists and impacts society today. Through prayerful reflection and community engagement, we explore issues of equity through guest speakers, field trips to social justice museums, and movie screenings.
