While spending time as an entire congregation is important, finding a smaller group with a commonality allows for different opportunities. These parishioners gather to take advantage of the many offerings of our city. Many good times and good people can be found with our 20s/30s group!
20s/30s leads: Emma Buckland Young, Jon Canning
A Bible study is offered on Sunday mornings, 8:30-10am in the Jane Stockert classroom and is open to all.
Participants explore the lectionary readings or other portions of scripture through guided discussion.
Throughout the year, our Rector offers spiritual studies, offering chances to learn, pray and reflect in ways that expand your usual practices.
Our current class, Zimzum Discipleship, explores how in our busy, noisy world, comes the call to find time for quiet reflection with God.
This class is an opportunity to tone down the noise around us and to come into God’s presence.
At Church of the Ascension, children and youth are an integral part of the life of the parish. We seek to support families as they nurture faith at home and in community, and to offer spaces where young people can explore scripture, prayer, and the life of the Church in age-appropriate ways.
is available 9:30-11:10am and during special events for younger children.
Children are welcome in Sunday worship.
Families may sit together, and quiet activity is always acceptable
Sunday School is offered during the program year for elementary-aged children.
Classes engage the stories of the Bible, the seasons of the Church year, and the practices of Christian life through age-appropriate teaching and conversation.
Older children and youth are invited to take part in the worshipping life of the parish through ministries such as acolytes and choristers.
Periodic gatherings and service opportunities provide additional space for building friendships, learning together, and growing in faith.
Throughout the year, Ascension offers occasional services, seasonal events, and parish gatherings that bring families together for worship, fellowship, and celebration.
