Stewardship
“God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.” –2 Corinthians 9:8
The Miriam Webster Dictionary defines stewardship as “the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.” Recognizing that it is God who has richly blessed and entrusted us with all that we have, at Church of the Ascension we respond to God’s generosity by faithfully managing God’s gifts and generously sharing our time, talents and wealth.
Annual Giving Invitation
Each fall, we ask Ascension’s parishioners to make a financial pledge for the coming year. These annual financial pledges guide our budgeting process and allow us to responsibly and thoughtfully determine how to carry out our mission and ministries within and beyond our church doors. Your financial pledge supports the worship that lifts our hearts, teaching that shapes disciples, fellowship that strengthens our bonds and outreach that embodies Christ’s love. As you think about giving, pray on this invitation to give, reflect on the resources God has placed in your care, and ponder how you might share them joyfully.
Why We Give
Through faithful giving, we sustain:
- The celebration of the Holy Eucharist and the life of prayer
- Music and worship ministries
- Formation for children, youth, and adults
- Pastoral care and clergy leadership
- Outreach and service in the wider community
- The care of our buildings and grounds
Together, these ministries allow Ascension to remain a place of beauty, welcome, and hope.
Capital Campaign
Capital Campaigns are an occasional means of raising funds for specific purposes. The recent God’s House, Our Home capital campaign was carried out to fund a HVAC system to replace the current baseboard heating system in the sanctuary, McLauchlan Hall and offices. We started construction in September 2026 and are on track to be warm by winter. Thank you to everyone that donated for making these improvements possible. Legacy Society
The Ascension Legacy Committee works to secure the long-term health of our parish with commitments of planned gifts from wills and financial plans. It is a thoughtful and impactful gift that helps to sustain your parish for years to come.
