Our principal service is the Holy Eucharist on Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. Worship is shaped by the rhythms of the Church year and the liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer. In a typical service you will hear scripture proclaimed, a sermon offered, congregational singing, prayers for the Church and the world, and the sharing of bread and wine. You are welcome to participate as you feel comfortable. Some people stand, sit, or kneel at various points in the service; others remain seated throughout. There is no expectation that visitors know what to do.
At each Sunday service we come to Christ’s table to receive Holy Communion. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, children and adults alike, you are welcome to come forward and receive communion. Those who prefer not to receive communion may come forward for a blessing or remain in their seat. If you are uncertain what to do, an usher or fellow worshipper will be glad to help. People come to Ascension dressed in many ways, from casual to more formal. Wear what is comfortable and appropriate for you.
Children are welcome in worship.
Families may sit together, and quiet activity is always acceptable.
