Music at Ascension is an essential component of our heritage and tradition. Our tracker organ, built by Paul Fritts of Tacoma, not only enhances our worship services, but also provides a means for community outreach through concerts and musical programs.
The Choir provides the backbone for congregational singing of hymns, primarily from The Hymnal 1982. The purpose of the music program is to create a deep and meaningful worship experience for all in attendance. Those interested in learning more about the choir can contact our Music Director, Paul Mitchell. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
Our worship forms are derived from the Episcopal Church’s 1979 Book of Common Prayer and may be augmented by other authorized texts. Each Sunday we hear at least four pieces of Scripture (from Hebrew Scripture, the Psalms, the New Testament writings, and the Holy Gospels), based on the three-year cycle of readings from the Revised Common Lectionary.
Members of the gathered assembly are the primary celebrants of worship. The priest(s) and liturgical ministers lead and assist the assembly, along with the choir.

On Thursday mornings at 8:30 am we gather for Morning Prayer. Led by a licensed lay person, this prayerful contemplative service is based on Morning Prayer Rite II from the Book of Common Prayer. Contact: Laurie Weckel firstname.lastname@example.org
